JAHG-USA Newsletter: Week of 8 Teves, 5766 / January 8, 2006

"How should we treat the legacy of J. Edgar Hoover?" Some 80% of answers proposed not only that Congress leave the former director's name on the FBI headquarters, but also that the FBI return to its roots in Hoover's policies. The balance of answers simply called for honoring Hoover for his achievements. No one expressed opposition to Hoover. We did not receive any significant comments this week.

Factual Background:
The "controversy" over Hoover is part of the larger struggle over internal security. In the wake of World War II, Americans suddenly woke up to find their victory being swallowed by the Soviet empire. Overnight came revelations of Communist brutality in the murder of tens of millions, the capture of Eastern Europe by the Soviet Red Army, the Soviet testing of a functional nuclear bomb acquired through espionage, the Communist occupation of mainland China, and the Communist invasion of Korea that launched the Korean War. Americans began to realize the Soviets were winning, not through superior military strength, but through the assistance of innumerable spies and agents in sensitive positions in the United States. In other words, America was being subverted from within.

J. Edgar Hoover, founder and director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), went into action and began investigating Communist penetration into government, labor unions, the civil rights movement, and many other sectors of American society. Soon Congress joined in; the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HCUA) used its Constitutional authority to uncover Soviet agents in the federal government, the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee (SISS) likewise probed into government and other institutions, etc. State and local governments followed suit. Even though all these investigations were severely limited in scope and ability from the start, Communists quickly found the new scrutiny was cramping their style, and they wanted it stopped — badly.

By the 1960s, the HCUA was no longer allowed to find traitors in the U.S. government. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, intelligence gathering by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was being severly curtailed while hundreds of its best officers were being purged as Communist and pro-Communist elements seized full control. During the rest of the 1970s, Communist-inspired attacks led to Congressional actions against all aspects of national security. The FBI was heavily restricted from investigating Communist organizations and even terrorist groups. The congressional investigating committees were cut back, limited, or even abolished. The Subversive Activities Control Board and the Attorney General's list of subversive organizations were eliminated.

During the 1980s and 1990s, state and local internal security were being crippled or abolished all around the nation, by political maneuvers, legal actions, and other methods. The casualties included state legislature investigating committees and even intelligence units of urban police departments (The attacks on police intelligence continue up until quite recently. Just in the last couple of years, attacks have restricted or ended investigations by police of Portland, Oregon; Anaheim, California; and Denver, Colorado, among others.)

The attack on internal security did not materialize out of thin air. A long list of Communist-front organizations have orchestrated the entire assault, including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU, controlled by members of the Communist Party, USA, since its founding), the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC, a Communist front virtually since its inception which openly backs violent terrorists throughout the world), the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR, an overtly Marxist lawyers' group under Communist control and openly working with terrorist groups), the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS, a front for the Soviet KGB operating in Washington, DC), the National Lawyers Guild (NLG, the Soviet-founded legal arm of the Communist Party, USA), and others.

Relevant Torah Principles:
The Noahide commandment of upholding justice requires defending the nation from all sources of crime and revolution. It goes without saying that when an enemy uses internal subversion as a primary means of rotting the nation's social structure and preparing the way for an overthrow of the government and system, the nation's Torah responsibility is to counteract and neutralize that subversion through internal security. The Torah authorizes the government (the "king") to take whatever measures are necessary, including investigation, additional prohibitions to interfere with subversive activities, extraordinary prosecutions, etc.

Analysis:
The FBI, both under Hoover and in the early years following his death, managed not only to uncover some fraction of Communist activities in this country — which itself slowed down their progress — but even directly interfered with some of the most dangerous plans for revolution and terrorism. The most conspicuous example can be found in the FBI's infiltration of the Communist-created Black Panther Party (BPP), which was organizing for urban guerrilla warfare to bring American cities into chaos. Using simple psychological warfare, undercover FBI agents were able to provoke the latent self-destructive tendencies of leading Black Panthers, provoking them into quarreling, factionalism, and eventual disintegration of the BPP (which has since been succeeded by other terrorist groups organizing underground).

Yet during the last two decades, new FBI directors have handicapped, restructured, and thoroughly coopted the formerly effective agency. Now the FBI no longer investigates Communists, but rather works together with them! FBI offices have opened in such Communist-occupied countries as Soviet Russia, Red China, and Yugoslavia, and the agency collaborates with the sponsors of the world terror network allegedly to combat terrorism — precisely the reason the FBI is so impotent in combatting terror.

Just to make sure Americans don't wake up to investigate Communism once again, the Communists and their allies are still fighting to smear and erase Hoover's legacy, even by trying to remove his name from the FBI's national headquarters. Instead, a false, dialectical argument rages in the news media and political circles: Should America investigate non-Communists, or should we protect Communists from being investigated? Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Both "sides" of the debate on intelligence-gathering are pro-Communist.

The Torah requires internal security against a nation's enemies. Congress could begin implementing Torah rules by expanding the domestic intelligence powers of the government — and legally requiring it to be dedicated entirely to the investigation and neutralization of the Communist underground. That would solve the dilemma; terrorism would be stopped while protecting the civil liberties of loyal, anti-Communist Americans.

Water officials are warning about a long-term drought, especially in the western U.S. What should be done?

The phony "Sanhedrin"

The new "Sanhedrin" we warned about in this newsletter two weeks ago has moved forward, as we predicted, with trying to seize control over the decentralized Noahide movement.

Monday the Communist-controlled "rabbinical" group convened in Jerusalem specifically to establish a front organization for coopting Noahides and Jewish activities in the Noahide Laws campaign. Led by Soviet agent Adin Steinsaltz, the "Sanhedrin" initiated ten gentiles as official "Noahides" with a verbal declaration by each. Apparently this was an imitation of the Torah rule that a gentile who formally accepts the Noahide Laws before a Jewish court becomes a ger toshav ("resident alien"), complete with such privileges as permission to live in the land of Israel. The problem is that the Torah does not allow Jewish courts to grant such a status until such time as the twelve tribes of Jews are resettled in their tribally-designated areas of Israel. And that can't happen until King Moshiach rules, since only he will have the prophetic ability to know to which tribe each Jew belongs. So the pledge recited by those non-Jews is useless, and the "Sanhedrin" is trying to break the Torah (counting on most people not realizing the Torah rules on such matters, and possibly by carefully avoiding the term "ger toshav").

Predictably, the "Noahides" included such agents of the Communist-front Root-and-Branch (R & B) network as Billy Jack Dial (reviewed in our previous newsletter), Jacob Scharf, Jack Saunders, and Jim Long, as well as the now-coopted Vendyl Jones, who serves as little more than a rubber stamp for whatever Root and Branch decides. Even Root and Branch affiliate Abdul Hadi Palazzi, a nominal Muslim who does not even pretend to have rejected Islam in favor of the Torah (and who follows exactly the Soviet Communist line in blaming Saudi Arabia, rather than Marxism, for terrorism), was brought in to speak before the "Sanhedrin" meeting — a clear sign of who really runs the phony "Sanhedrin."

And R & B agent Jim Long admitted that the new "Noahide" council's goal was to prevent any Hasidic Gentiles or Jews from operating independently.

Steinsaltz himself, along with subversive "Sanhedrin" members Yaakov Ariel and Nachman Kahane, took the lead in promoting the "Noahide" council, and Root-and-Branch operative (and probable Communist) Rabbi Yoel Schwartz was put in charge of actually running the new front group. Yoel Schwartz further revealed his Communist agenda by praising the United Nations, ignoring the fact that it was created entirely by Communist agents and has always been run from within the secretariat by the Soviet Union and its allies.

With Hashem's help, the evil plans of the "Sanhedrin" and its collaborators will never succeed, and they will be judged harshly for their participation in this scheme to deliver the Jewish people into the hands of our Communist enemies.

This week's example:
Rabbi Mendel Morosow, Chabad of Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY

A JAHG-USA volunteer showed Rabbi Morosow our Proclamation (which lists the Torah rules requiring everyone to get involved with JAHG-USA's PLO-defunding campaign) last May 23rd. Yet unlike most rabbis, who are signing, Rabbi Morosow was curiously hostile right from the beginning. He let on that he already knew about the campaign, and brazenly repeated lashon hara (slanderous speech, forbidden by Torah) about me and this movement. He made no attempt to hide his disinterest in signing (though not based on any refutation of the Proclamation's contents), and he even tried to influence the JAHG-USA volunteer to stop participating.

Rabbi Morosow's opposition is far more than the usual "refusenik" who simply doesn't want to get involved. Something tells us that there may be much more than meets the eye with this sinister person.

Terrorism Update:
Here are some more PLO terror attacks and related actions, funded by the U.S. taxpayer, that took place this last week:

Several Kassam missiles were fired out of the Gaza Strip at Israeli towns; two people were injured and a gas station was nearly hit. Terrorists of the PLO's Fatah took credit.
PLO terrorists bulldozed open a wider breach at the Gaza-Egypt border, allowing easier movement of terrorists and weapons into Israel.
Members of Fatah, the main group in the PLO, kidnapped an American couple in the Gaza Strip. When they discovered that the couple were the parents of Rachel Corrie, an activist with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM, an explicitly Marxist, Communist-affiliated PLO front group operating in the U.S.), they immediately released them.
Some unknown terrorist fired shots at an Israeli car while it was driving.
More Kassam rockets were fired from the Gaza, but fell short of their targets.
Shots were fired at an Israeli army post, but hit nothing.
PLO-led protesters threw stones and injured an Israeli soldier.
PLO terrorists, newly trained by Communist military officers in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran recently returned to Gaza to coordinate new waves of terror attacks. Their training was particularly in making more effective bombs and more accurate missiles.
Again two more Kassam rockets were fired from the Gaza into other parts of Israel, but landed away from populated areas.
In Naameh, Lebanon, PLO guards shot and injured two Lebanese police officers. The PLO guards were members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine — General Command (PFLP-GC), an openly Marxist group under the PLO umbrella headed by Soviet KGB officer Ahmed Jibril. The PFLP-GC is supported by Communist Syria.
Israeli intelligence reports that Communist Egypt has recently increased the smuggling of Soviet Russian guns to the PLO, through the Gaza, by a factor of ten-fold to some 3,000 guns per month. That's in addition to two tons of explosives and dozens of rocket-propelled grenades, every month.
Another Kassam missile was fired from the Gaza, hitting nothing.
A terrorist leader formerly of Islamic Jihad (which coordinates its attacks with PLO units) and transferred to Hamas (funded by the PLO) was caught before he could establish a Hamas cell for kidnapping Israeli soldiers in the West Bank. The terrorist, Shadi Samir Halawa, had previously organized numerous attacks, including one carried out jointly by his two groups (Islamic Jihad and Hamas) and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades of the PLO's Fatah. Halawa is a classic proof that the various terror groups, whether formally part of the PLO or not, do not actually function as separate organizations, but rather constitute a single, larger PLO network under Soviet control.

This week's casualty count: 5 injured, and a massive infrastructure being built to conduct future waves of terrorism.

It turns out that PLO terrorism by such groups as Fatah and Islamic Jihad is largely financed and coordinated by the Hezbollah in Lebanon, itself formerly a wing of the PLO that now answers to Iranian intelligence, itself supervised by Soviet Russia. The Fatah terrorists working under Hezbollah are now also employed — at U.S. expense, of course — as members of the Palestinian Authority's (PA) "police."

Yet the United Nations-affiliated World Bank is actually pushing for an increase in funding for those terrorists, even as official aid to the PLO is already higher on a per-capita basis than for any government in the world in six decades. The only way to stop the World Bank and other collaborators with the terrorists is through the JAHG-USA campaign to "Stop Financing the Terrorist PLO!"

Both are teachers in the high school (mesivta) of the Oholei Torah yeshiva system, which operates in the Lubavitch headquarters community of Crown Heights. That means they are well trained in Torah, knowing fully well that everything we say in the Proclamation is correct (not that anyone has seriously tried to argue otherwise). And by signing, Rabbis Nussbaum and Jacobson add their voices to the growing chorus that says every single person must participate in the PLO defunding campaign.
