JAHG-USA Newsletter
Week of 25 MarCheshvan, 5766 / November 27, 2005

Corrections: It is often pointed out to us that we have various typos in our newsletter. That's quite true, since it's put out fairly informally. Still, we do try to keep errors to a minimum. But last week, two glaring mistakes got past our editorial process:
  • In the analysis of the tobacco-smoking issue, we should have said that "there is no cancer-causing substance found in any appreciable quantity in [cigarette] smoke"; we accidentally wrote "quality."
  • In referring to the Tennessee-based cult of J. David Davis, we accidentally called its nominal leader "J. David Davidson."

We apologize for these errors, and hope to intercept them before publication in the future.

"Issues of World War III" Survey

Regarding the recent peace agreement between Sudan's northern and southern forces, we asked last week, "Should Sudan's government now receive U.S. support?" The responses were unanimous against giving any assistance to Sudan's government. Here are some excerpted comments:

Factual Background:
The news media portrays the regime in Khartoum, Sudan's capital, as a fanatic Arab government supporting terrorism and committing genocide because of its "Islamic" values. Southern rebel leader John Garang is painted as a pro-western Christian fighting oppression in order to free the Christian (and pagan animist) people of the south. Now that Garang and his forces have reconciled with the Khartoum regime, various nations have promised billions of dollars in aid to the south, which is slated to have its own local government; on top of that, some voices are suggesting it's time to assist the Sudanese government as well.

Lost in all of this confusion is that the allegedly "Muslim" Sudanese regime is already assisted, armed, and defended by Soviet Russia and Red China, both of which have insisted on blocking United Nations sanctions against Sudan. Why would the two major Communist powers rush to help a religious, Arab government?

The answer, of course, is that Khartoum is anything but a Muslim government. Revolutionary Marxists first seized power over Sudan in 1969, assisted by the Communist Bloc right from the beginning. In the late 1980s, the Communists orchestrated a "regime change" to supposedly "Islamic" rulers, although the main force behind that government, the Muslim Brotherhood organization, was itself under the tight control of the Sudanese Communist Party. The "Islamic" illusion suited the Communists well, who began using Sudan throughout the 1990s as a base of operations for the international financial network that provides logistical support to Soviet-backed Marxist terrorists (including PLO operations). Sudan's "Islamic" coloration helped disguise the Soviet and Red Chinese role in organizing world terrorism.

At about the same time as the regime "changes" in the 1980s, a rebellion erupted in southern Sudan. John Garang, a prominent officer in the Sudanese army — and himself an outspoken Communist — promptly brought his entire battalion into the rebellion, creating the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, an overtly Marxist-Leninist revolutionary organization backed with money and guns from the Soviet Union (at the very same time the Soviets were also backing the Khartoum government). Garang's revolutionaries pretended to fight the government, but actually worked closely with it in waging terrorism against the population itself. Garang's Communist forces helped murder millions of Sudanese by causing mass population displacement and by creating artificial famines, denying people access to food and blocking outside aid to the starving victims.

During the 1990s, Garang managed to fool many Christians in the United States into thinking he was a fellow Christian believer fighting "Muslim" terror, thus tapping the support of conservative, religious Americans while continuing to receive Soviet Russian aid through Communist Eritrea. But since Garang's "Christianity" was no more real than the "Islam" of the Sudanese regime, the two groups had no problem rejoining forces as soon as the Soviets decided it was necessary. (Garang has also supported the now-publicized Darfur rebels, verbally and probably with Soviet Russian weapons, confirming that those western rebels must also be Communists.)

The Bush Administration recently fell into a bit of controversy when it was discovered that U.S. intelligence agencies have been secretly working with the Sudanese government, apparently as a prelude to restoring normal relations with, and aid to, Khartoum. In the meantime, the billions of dollars going to the southern region will, of course, also be assisting the Sudanese regime in the north. And the Sudanese "help" to U.S. intelligence consists entirely of disinformation about the mythical "al Qaeda" network and its non-existent activities. Whether the U.S. aids Khartoum directly, or only assists the southern Sudan region, or even just receives "intelligence data" from Sudan, the Communists win in any case.

Relevant Torah Principles:
1) The rabbinical sages, at first appearance, had various opinions on whether gentiles are required to give tzedaka (charitable contribution, loosely translated) similarly to the requirement of Torah Law for Jews. The Lubavitcher Rebbe has reconciled those views by explaining that gentiles are required to give tzedaka, but primarily for the sake of social order and well-being.

2) The principle of tzedaka consists not only of providing aid to those in need, but preferably, to solving the root problem behind the need. The highest form of tzedaka is helping the poor become independent and able to support themselves. This is of particular importance in the Torah obligations for gentiles.

2) Similarly, the Noahide commandment of Justice requires solving the root cause of turmoil or warfare, not just temporarily bandaging the symptoms until the problem re-erupts elsewhere.

Analysis:
The genocide in Sudan, and the terrorism supported by it, are not the products of religious or ethnic rivalries; they are calculated policies of the Communist International. The Sudan crisis cannot be solved by giving aid, neither to Khartoum, nor to the southern or Darfur regions, nor (at this point) even to the people themselves. The problem is the Communist regime and its supporters, and they must be dealt with before the problems can ever be solved.

That means not only stopping all aid to all parts of Sudan, but also to its neighboring Communist regimes in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Egypt, Libya, Chad, the Central African Republic, and Uganda — and, it goes without saying, to the Russian and Red Chinese regimes that support all of the above. Mass murder, whether in Sudan, Russia, China, or elsewhere will not stop until the Communists themselves are dead; they will not stop their willful evil for anything or anyone. And the first step to undermining Communist rule everywhere is by denying their regimes the western aid they so badly need to survive.

Then the forces of the Communist International, known as the "armies of Gog and Magog" in Torah prophecy, will annihilate each other with the coming of Moshiach and the permanent Redemption in the very near future — leading to a world without hunger or war.

And now for this week's survey question:
Some people protest the observance of Columbus Day and Thanksgiving Day, saying that these are based on murder and oppression of the Indians who once dominated the western hemisphere. Was America right in defeating the Indians and settling the land?

(1) No, the Indians were here first and the settlers were invaders.
(2) There were crimes on both sides; no one was right.
(3) Yes, settlers did the right thing in civilizing the wild frontier.
(4) Other

THE HALL OF SHAME…
Have Some Chabad Shluchim Betrayed Their Rebbe?

Recently our PLO-defunding campaign has received so many new endorsements by rabbis and other Jewish leaders that we're struggling to sort it all out. Some of the new signatures on our Proclamation (declaring the Torah duty for everyone to help defund the PLO) are coming from former "refuseniks" who are changing their minds, or from people near to them. So to see whether more "refusenik" rabbis are ready to change their mind, we'll postpone the "Hall of Shame" coverage this week..

Terrorism Update:
Last week we announced the strange disappearance of terrorism news from the Arutz-Sheva reports. Within a few days of that newsletter, Arutz-Sheva suddenly restored full coverage of terrorist incidents in Israel. Yes, the entire opposition to Sharon's pro-PLO surrender policies has been infiltrated by Israeli intelligence, undoubtedly including Arutz-Sheva, and that is why all attempts to stop the PLO are constantly deflected away from the fundamental issue: stopping U.S. government funding of PLO terrorism. All other efforts will continue to fail so long as the umbilical cord of support is not cut.

Here are some terrorist attacks that took place this last week in Israel:

  • A taxi driver was shot by unidentified "palestinian" assailants.
  • PLO-incited rioters attacked Israeli police officers with stones, injuring two.
  • A PLO agent was caught trying to smuggle explosives in the West Bank.
  • While Israeli troops were making an arrest of a terrorist leader, Palestinian Authority (PA) forces shot at them, injuring three Israelis.
  • Terrorists stabbed and seriously wounded a 16-year-old Jewish boy in Jerusalem.
  • PLO fighters threw two firebombs into a Jewish neighborhood, but failed to caused damage.
  • Terrorists shot at Israeli troops near the Gaza Strip border, but missed.
  • PLO activists, joined in their demonstration by Israeli Communists and by the International Solidarity Movement (a Marxist-Leninist, pro-PLO group based in America), threw rocks at Israeli soldiers and injured five.
  • Rioting prisoners injured 41 Israeli soldiers, police, and prison guards by throwing stones and other objects and starting a fire. (Communist gangs are efficient at organizing inmates in prisons throughout the world, running criminal activities and often creating riots; presumably the PLO has similar control over Arab inmates in Israeli prisons.)
  • A PLO terrorist threw a bomb at Israeli soldiers in Hebron, apparently missing.
  • PLO fighters fired missiles and mortar round(s) from the Gaza Strip into Israel, damaging an Israeli home.
  • More firebombs were thrown at an Israeli driver and a gas station.
  • Stone-throwing attacks injured an Israeli soldier and an Arab baby.

Many of the terrorists behind such attacks have been proven to be members of the official Palestinian Authority (PA) "police" forces, meaning that they are openly funded and directed by the PLO. Four members of the PA, including two intelligence agents who were also members of the Fatah, the leading PLO group, were caught preparing to conduct new attacks. And Islamic Jihad, which coordinates its activities with the PLO, turns out to be planning another major suicide bombing sometime in the near future. Israeli authorities are also finding hidden staches of explosives, weapons, and ammunition, as well as bomb factories, throughout the West Bank — none of which could be taking place without the coordination and support of the PLO/PA terrorist network.

Which means that your tax dollars are paying for all this.

…AND THE HALL OF FAME
Some Chabad Shluchim Are Helping the JAHG-USA Campaign

This week's examples:
Rabbi Raleigh Resnick and Rabbi Kalman Weinfield, Mesivta Chovivei Torah, Brooklyn, NY

Rabbis Resnick and Weinfield were both presented (separately) the Proclamation endorsing our PLO-defunding campaign on June 9th, and they both signed on the spot. Rabbi Resnick is a teacher, and Rabbi Weinfield a principal, at the "high school" of the United Lubavitcher Yeshivos, one of the two major yeshivos for Lubavitch boys in Brooklyn. Their endorsements helped pave the way for the current flood of signatures we are now receiving — and it means these rabbis agree that everyone is obligated to get involved in supporting the campaign to "Stop Funding the Terrorist PLO!"

This Week on ATTAC Report

This week's edition of our sister site, ATTAC Report, presents:

Letters to the Editor

(In response to information on our web site about the true "Jesus"):
"…I basically copied some of those quotations from the Talmud regarding Yeshu [Jesus] and pasted them in a Jewish/Christian Voice Conference room.… the people there objected greatly to these Talmudic quotes. They told me: (1) That those were bad translations from the Hebrew; (2) That those citations don't even exist in the Talmud. If you can answer these 2 assertions I will be very grateful." — (no name given).

Our response: The passages we cite on our web site are the eyewitness testimony of the rabbinical authorities who knew Jesus personally. They describe events and actions of his that were deliberately left out of the "New Testament," including that Jesus actually lived nearly a century earlier than Christians believe, that he worshipped idols and seduced other people into the Gnostic occult, that he practiced sorcery and black magic, that he had five (not twelve) disciples, and that he was executed by the Sanhedrin with stoning, not by the Romans using crucifixion.

Naturally, Christian leaders do everything they can to keep their naive followers from finding out about those passages in the Talmud. During the Middle Ages, the Church burned many holy Talmuds and murdered hundreds of thousands of Jews to suppress such information; at other times, Church authorities simply required Jews to censor those particular passages. As a result, many editions of the Talmud now lack those passages. However, Divine Providence protected Jews who kept a few copies of the original, true versions, which have survived to this day hidden in remote places. Thus some newer editions of the Talmud have restored the censored passages.

That is why the Christians on that web site gave two contradictory arguments: that the passages never existed, or that they do exist, but that the translations are bad. While the most popular modern editions of the Talmud still haven't restored those passages (as in the ArtScroll edition, for example), they can be found in certain printings of all-Hebrew/Aramaic Talmuds, and a good English translation is to be found in the easily available Soncino edition.

Yes, the passages certainly exist, they are properly translated, and they do refer to the same Jesus that Christians believe in. It is the Christian Church itself, starting with the Roman councils of the fourth century, that edited and created the "New Testament" and declared it to be official scripture; that censored Talmuds and murdered Jews to suppress contrary evidence; and that continues to deny these passages, hoping no one will read them.

In modern times, they can no longer make the truth go away, and many Christians are starting to discover they were misled by the Roman version of events in the man-made "New Testament." Time is running out for their deception.
